I’m an over thinker. It’s just one of the reasons it took me so long to start blogging and share my writing. I wanted everything to be perfect. Ya know, the Virgo perfectionist trait. Nothing was ever good enough. And I needed a great name and theme and layout and a bunch of other things to make it a great blog. But I realized as time went on that if none of it was ever good enough then it would never BE at all. So I quit overthinking (well mostly) and I decided the theme or point of my blog would be to simply share my writing; to share me, and not focus on the other things that I could learn and update as I went along. So to title it all I went with a phrase that has a whole lot to do with me; PUZZLING PURIST.
I found said phrase in my birthday book. Or The Secret Language of Birthdays to be exact. Each day is dedicated or coined a day of something and mine was The Day of the Puzzling Purist. It made so much sense. Basically I’m confusing as fuck but I mean well.

Here are some main parts in the section:
-Month: September / Day: 8 / Sign: 14-17* Virgo / Period: Virgo II / Mutable Earth
-Strengths: Serious / Dynamic / Performative
-Weaknesses: Unyielding / Authoritarian / Misdirected
-Enigmatic individual by no means easy to figure out. In their minds they try to straighten things out and improve, yet even if they go off the wrong track they’re likely to maintain belief they’re acting reasonably or responsibly.
-Often misunderstood by others. Supreme actors on the stage of life; capable of playing many parts, but content to play one just one very well.
-See the world in terms of black and white; highly subject the forces of good and evil. Chosen roll is often protector against the enemies of family, state, and party, yet how ironic they themselves can prove to be the principal enemy. Important to examine values to make sure they are as pure as they believe.
-Often able to control others by their masterful roleplaying and sense of humor, but also through their weighty seriousness. Rarely taken lightly, often earn great respect, at times can instill fear.
-Having them for a parent, mate, or lover may by a challenging proposition in itself. They can be incredibly demanding, inflexible, even tyrannical, but at the same time supportive and dependable. A mass of puzzling contradictions, September 8 people will at least be fascinating to those who are involved with them.
-Like to be the head of the group, in public and private. Have a marked interest in critical issues of their time; not particularly tolerant. Opposed to ill-considered or undermining forms of change. Not easy to get along with per sey. Do not depend on the opinions of others, but firmly hold their own course knowing in their hearts they do what is best for all.
Numbers & Planets
Ruled by the number 8 and planet Saturn. Saturn posits responsibility and a sense of limitation, caution and fatalism, which emphasize the conservative tendencies. A Saturn-Mercury connection grants serious power of speech and thought. Generally build their lives and careers slowly and carefully. Often warmhearted but with a forbidding or unsmiling exterior.
Tarot
The 8th card of the Major Arcana is Strength or Courage, which depicts a graceful queen taming a lion. The queen symbolizes the female Magician who can master rebellious energies and stands for moral as well as physical strength. The cards positive attributes include charisma and determination to succeed; the negative qualities include complacency and the misuse of power.
Health
Hard to persuade in general and have fixed ideas about caring for their health. Learn from themselves what mistakes they’ve made and confront whatever illnesses they have been responsible for creating. They believe in purifying the thoughts of those around them, but don’t necessarily apply the same beliefs to their own diet and lifestyle. Prone to stress, cardiovascular problems and diet-related conditions, eliminating harmful substances is highly important. Seeking moderation in the sexual sphere and warm, loving relationships in the emotional sphere are also of paramount importance.
Advice
Your ideas are not always easy for others to accept. Don’t push them too hard; let others breathe a bit. Strive to be yourself. Beware of a tendency to be bossy or insensitive.
Meditation
I heard someone say, “Most of life is a gray area.”

Most of this is very relatable to me. My spirituality has become such an important role in my life and astrology is a major factor in that. I oftentimes hear people say they “don’t believe” in astrology or heavily question its credibility. What these people are missing is that astrology isn’t the be-all end-all of figuring out who we are. It’s simply a part of it; one of the influences. I strongly believe in the concept of ‘As Above So Below’ and the celestial movements and positioning is very much the Above aspect to who we are and why we are that way, and the Below is our gained human experiences on this earth; our childhood, our traumas, our triumphs. It is all so layered together forming the eccentricities and individuality we all possess. It is true, our greatest gift is that there is no other YOU.
And that is why I chose this phrase for the front-line. It encapsulates a large part of me and the rest will come in bits and pieces exposing this soul of chaos and art. Blessed Be.
